Using materials that are not only environmentally friendly but also economically savvy helps new home buyers save on energy costs while enjoying a new home that is built to stand the test of time more so than regular homes.

Who says they are a "green" home builder?

"Going Green" is a term we hear a lot these days. But green means more that energy-efficient windows. Da Vinci Homes incorporates Green building principals throughout the entire home, otherwise, it's a wasted effort, and a false statement to make.

If these walls could talk... What does building green REALLY mean?

AIR LEAKAGE: Most new homes will have many small holes and cracks caused by normal constructioncellulose insulation practices. The will allow enough air leakage to fill two Goodyear blimps EVERY DAY! And you are paying for it. Extensive caulking and foaming along with air-tight lighting is needed to stop leaks. The GeoThermal Home Standards that we adhere to require that a home have no more than one air exchange every three hours (the average air exchange as sited above is one per hour.) The best time to effectively address this issue is at the time of construction.

DUCT WORK: Many new homes leak 25%-35% of conditioned air each hour. That means you are paying to heat and cool your attic, and a much larger system is required to maintain your home's temperature settings. The only way to insure your new home has received the necessary work to stop duct leaks is with duct pressurization testing, which we submit to on each and every home we build (and pass with flying colors!)

INSULATION: One of the first things people think of when thinking energy efficiency is insulation. But not all insulation is the same. ALL Da Vinci homes are built with CELLULOSE INSULATION, which offers higher energy efficiency (R-values) per inch than fiberglass. Cellulose insulation is made from cellulose insulation100% recycled products and is the ONLY HOME INSULATION manufactured that is FIRE RESISTANT. And an added benefit, pests hate it! Rodents and insects are not interested in nesting and breeding in your walls, maybe they'll go next door.

A home is one of the largest investments you will make in your lifetime! Don't miss your opportunity to make a sound investment!
